- AMD EPYC 2nd Gen CPUs (Rome) - 18.04 LTS
AMD EPYC 2nd Generation CPUs (Rome) are only partially supported by Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with the GA 4.15 kernel. Full support for all EPYC 2nd Generation features is included in the 18.04 HWE kernel (5.0 or later). If you experience problems with workloads on systems using these CPUs, you will need to upgrade to the current 18.04 LTS HWE kernel using the "bionic (hwe-18.04) kernel in MAAS, or by installing the "linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04" package directly, or by choosing the HWE kernel option at boot time if you are installing Ubuntu 18.04 LTS from an ISO image.
