The Applied Micro Circuits Corp. X-Gene 2 (Server Reference Board) server with the components described below has been awarded the status of certified for Ubuntu.

This system was tested with 14.04 LTS, running the 4.4.0-36-generic kernel.
- Updates from Cloud Archive needed
In order to use this system to its fullest potential you will need to update packages from the tools pocket of the cloud-archive. More information on enabling this special archive and installing packages from it can be found here:
You will need updated QEMU packages to use KVM on this system.
- In-Band IPMI not working
In-Band IPMI connections to the BMC are not possible with this SoC. BMC Connections will need to be made remotely.
- Manual enlistment in MAAS necessary
This system does not support automated enlistment in MAAS environments. This is because this system does not have in-band communication capabilities to the systems management controller. Therefore you will need to manually enlist this system in MAAS.
After that, commissioning and deployment should proceed in an automated fashion as expected.
