Testing details

This system was tested with 16.04 LTS, running the 4.4.0-21-generic kernel.

Certification notes

HP Dynamic Smart Array

System is certified with Dynamic Smart Array disabled.

To disable Dynamic Smart Array: * Press F9 to boot into RBSU * Navigate to System Options -> HP Dynamic Smart Array B320i and select disable * Go to System options -> SATA Controller options and select Legacy SATA or AHCI * Reboot the machine and now you will be able to install the OS.

Using MAAS: HP provides the script to automate this process during commissioning of the server.

Certification notes

HPDSA Driver Installation (MAAS)

This system requires the HPDSA driver for "smart array mode". In order to use systems with Smart Array controllers in "smart array mode" with MAAS, you will need to modify drivers.yaml to include the hpdsa driver. Instructions for this can be found here: https://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/project/ubuntu-hpdsa/

HP ILO and MAAS

ILO firmware version 2.30 will not work with MAAS. To use this system in a MAAS environment you will need to update to the latest ILO firmware (greater than version 2.30).

If you are using ILO 2.20 or older, you are not affected by this issue. Please refer to HP for more information on updating ILO firmware.
