QEMU Update Requried

In order to use Ubuntu KVM on the S822L in PowerNV mode, you will need to be sure you're running QEMU version 1:2.2+dfsg-5expubuntu9.3~cloud0 or later. This version can be found in the Ubuntu Cloud Archive for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. To use this version of QEMU, use the following commands on your S822L system

$ sudo add-apt-repository cloud-archive:kilo
$ sudo apt-get install qemu-system-ppc

MAAS updates needed

In order to utilize this hardware with MAAS you will need to ensure your MAAS server is updated to at least Version 1.8.4.

To install this version, add the MAAS team stable PPA and update your maas server with apt-get.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:maas/stable
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

MAAS 1.8 is also being SRU'd into Trusty and should be available from the Trusty repos at some point in the near future.

HWE Kernel Required

In order to successfully enlist and commission this hardware in a MAAS environment, you will need to set the default enlistment and commissioning kernel to at least HWE-V for 14.04 in the MAAS web UI.
