Purley Platform Support - 14.04 LTS

Purley CPUs and Platforms are only supported in the 14.04.5 point release of the 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr Ubuntu release). Additionally, this CPU and platform is only partially supported by the the 4.4 kernel stream for Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS. This platform is not supported by the 14.04 LTS 3.3 kernel family at all. If you are running workloads that require all the features of the Purley CPU instruction set, you will need to update to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with kernel version 4.10 or later, which is provided by the 'linux-generic-hwe-16.04' package or the 'xenial (hwe-16.04)' kernel option in MAAS.
